Background:
Pippa was born (1982) in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. She attended St Patrick’s Primary School and Beaconhills Christian College secondary schools both of which are located in Victoria, Australia. She was the school vice captain whilst at Beaconhills Christian College.
Pippa began her acting career soon after finishing high school. She studied Animal Technology at college but deferred when she found the balance between her studies and acting conflicted.
Acting:
Pippa took drama classes, at first for the challenge, as a way to meet people because she was shy, and simply to have fun. The love for acting grew along with her ambitions until eventually she strived to make it a career. Pippa’s first major role was on the popular television show Neighbours where she secured the role of Elle Robinson. She has had several smaller television based acting parts starring alongside some of Australia’s biggest talents before joining the Neighbours cast in late 2005. She has appeared in the TV shows Evil Never Dies, Last Man Standing, The Secret Life Of Us and also on an Australis cosmetics comercial playing a nurse.
Family:
Pippa lived with her family in Pakenham, Victoria and also in the Narre Warren area (Casey, Victoria). She has two brothers. Pippa’s younger brother Tom has occasionally attended public events alongside her.
Neighbours:
At first Pippa faced a degree of criticism for poor acting by fans of Neighbours as many seemed to feel it wasn’t at the level of existing cast members. Pippa joined Neighbours when it was being accused of copying the Australian soap Home And Away which had move viewers at the time. Fans felt that Pippa (and Dan O’Connor who joined the show at the same time) had been hired solely on looks rather than talent. This view diminished over time with many feeling Pippa would prove to be a hit on the show with the right storylines.
Pippa’s character quickly became an integral part of the show. Her first storylines revolved around confrontations with Paul’s (Stefan Dennis) girlfriend when she arrived, Izzy Hoyland (Natalie Bassingthwaighte). Interest in Ned Parker (Dan O’Connor) soon saw Elle planning to leave Ramsay Street and Erinsborough to return home to Tasmania. With the arrival of Elle Robinson’s twin brothers soon after, she was involved in one of 2006’s bigger storylines.
Public:
Pippa has appeared at numerous big public events and occasions in Australia. Neighbours promotional work has also led to invitations to award shows like the Logie’s, Australian movie premiers and interviews in various media.
Pippa presented the 2006 Dolly Teen Choice Awards on stage alongside fellow Neighbours stars Adelaine Kane, Dan O’Connor and Sam Clarke.
Charity:
Pippa publicly support various charitable causes including the Narre Warren Lighthouse Foundation, the RSPCA, Peta, Camp Quality, CanTeen, Childhood Hero, the Asthma Foundation of Victoria, The Bluey Day Foundation, Make-a-Wish foundation and the World Society for the Protection of Animals. Pippa starred in an ad for PETA ASIA-PACIFIC in 2007 promoting vegetarianism.
Relationships:
When Pippa joined Neighbours media speculation began about her relationships. Initial reports suggested she may have dated fellow Neighbours star Dan O’Connor. These were later replaced with much stronger reports in 2006 that she was dating Fletcher Humphrys who appeared in Neighbours as the guest character of Guy Sykes in late 2006. Fletcher’s role only lasted 10 weeks and was not involved with Pippa’s character Elle on the show.
The pair appeared at several public events together adding weight to the link between them with their relationship confirmed by media outlets in early 2007. Towards the end of 2007 news broke that Pippa and Fletcher had parted ways.
Future:
Pippa is still currently playing the role of Elle Robinson on Neighbours with the part looking secure for the near future.
Hobbies/Interests/Likes:
Pippa loves summertime, being with friends at the beach, camping and horseriding. Pippa got her own thoroughbred horse named Easy at age twelve. Pippa is a vegetarian, her favorite food type is Mexican and she dislikes coffee.
